Here is a little bio to know more about how I got to this point.
I am a Tunisian American award-winning gender justice and anti-human trafficking and modern slavery activist. At the age of 24, I dedicated my life to combating human trafficking and modern slavery after realizing that I almost got trafficked while looking for jobs abroad to support my education. Since then, I founded Not 4 Trade Organization, Youth Against Slavery Movement, and the Anti Slavery Collective for Generation Equality Forum to prevent other youth from becoming victims and to ensure everyone learns about these crimes.
I held consultative and leadership positions in different organizations namely African Youth Networks Movement founded by Graca Mandella, Global Africans Against Slavery, and UN Women´s Gender Innovation Agora and Generation Equality Youth Task Force. I am also a Fulbright Alumna at the University of Kentucky, a journalist, and a university professor of public speaking and professional communication. I received my double masters’ degrees in International Relations and International Development and Cooperation from the Universities of Tunis and Palermo. I am also an internationally CPD-certified trainer on Human Trafficking and related issues from Safe Coalition for Human Rights.
I am extremely passionate about social justice and fighting human trafficking and modern-day slavery. I was named among the top 5 inspiring female entrepreneurs in the Arab World. I was honored three times and received the Women’s Rights Award from the United Nations Association, the Leadership Award from the University of Kentucky, and the campaigner award from the Thomson Reuters Foundation. I published my research on “The Developments of Trafficking in Women in Post-Revolution Tunisia” in Slavery Today Journal. and I delivered a TEDx Talk entitled ¨The Art of Befriending your Fears.¨
